The SBS Operations Project Manager III plays a critical role in the Sherwin Business Services Project Management Office (SBS PMO), delivering high-quality project management leadership using primarily Waterfall methodologies. As a mid-level professional with extensive knowledge and experience in project management principles and leading practices, this role is responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of various projects for, on behalf of, the global SBS organization.

The Project Manager III works closely with key stakeholders across the organization, including technical teams, business teams, application programmers, and leaders. This role coordinates work performed by key stakeholders by defining project requirements, tracking completion of deliverables, performing risk assessments, and coordinating with organizational Change Management to perform needs/impact assessments. The Project Manager III works with other members of the SBS PMO and project team members to implement new project management tools and techniques and requires expertise in project management to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This role is not remote/hybrid and will report to our Hinckley Parkway location in Cleveland, OH.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Develop and maintain tasks for designated projects, including through project planning, defining requirements, scheduling, tracking, and utilizing resource management tools
  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring successful completion on schedule, within budget, and with high quality deliverables
  • Define project scope by analyzing project requirements, understanding project objectives, and identifying all key project stakeholders
  • Coordinate and monitor work performed by project team members and participants to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, changes, and dependencies, escalating as needed
  • Conduct regular project meetings and provide status updates to senior management, project sponsors, and other key stakeholders on overall project status, budget, progress, risks, and mitigation efforts
  • Develop and implement project quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Liaise with technical and business stakeholders to ensure maintained alignment of project goals and objectives
  • Manage project administration, independently assess areas for improvement, and collect Lessons Learned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree, at least 4 years of experience in the field of project management

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or Finance
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 3+ years of project management experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, and risk management
  • In-depth knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or Smartsheet

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting large or complex multi-functional and multi-divisional projects, such as business or system integrations, acquisitions, or rationalizations
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management using strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, stakeholder management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Must demonstrate an aptitude for grasping new processes and technologies
  • Experience using Jira, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools

Preferred:

  • Strong knowledge of industry standard project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, hybrid approaches).

  • Understanding of technical environments relevant to Sherwin-Williams (e.g. ERP and cloud systems)
