Position Summary

The Quality Control Technician performs production line quality checks, collects plant samples, and conducts routine laboratory analyses to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures data accuracy, process consistency, and compliance with ISO quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect production samples from designated plant areas and transport them to the laboratory for analysis.

  • Perform laboratory testing and basic chemical analyses on routine sample types.

  • Conduct in-plant quality checks, such as verifying bucket weights and ensuring lot-stamping equipment is functioning properly.

  • Record laboratory data accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Report deviations from procedures or expected results to management.

  • Assist with ISO 9001 compliance activities and periodic internal audits.

  • Provide laboratory coverage as needed to support business continuity.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards in assigned plant and lab areas.

  • Follow all site safety rules and required procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Safety & Physical Requirements

  • Maintain strong safety awareness while working in plant and lab environments.

  • Wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and an escape respirator due to chlorine being present onsite.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to walk within the plant and operate a golf cart for sample collection.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma.

  • Ability to follow laboratory procedures and maintain accurate records.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.

Preferred:

  • Chemistry coursework or prior laboratory experience.

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $42,400.00 and $70,700.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
