Description

The Referral Coordinator is responsible for assuring a comprehensive process, updated data base and the integrity of the referral process for patients to assigned physicians and specific services. The Referral Coordinator will establish and maintain an updated overview of cancer resources. Coordinate referral calls received. Provide information and direct calls as appropriate. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base to process calls for referrals and scheduling, general cancer disease site, and cancer treatment information. Appropriately triage patients or callers with clinical questions or problems to the right person with the correct training and background to provide information. Develops and maintains a database of numbers, types of calls and responses to those calls. Devises and implements a system for follow up to assure that callers needs have been met. All job-related duties will be performed in accordance with all Providence Policies and Procedures, Providence Mission and Core Values, and all relevant JCAHO, Title 22, OSHA, and DHS standards. The Referral Coordinator will report to the Manager of Genetics and/or Director of Clinical Services.

Required Qualifications:



  • 2 years of Work experience in an oncology, genetic, or hospital based clinical setting.
  • Experience dealing with confidential information and knowledge of privacy laws.


Preferred Qualification:



  • Associate's Degree

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
