Purpose
The primary responsibility of this position is to implement and maintain land restoration projects. This position provides support in habitat implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of landscape construction and revegetation projects. In addition, the position will assist in the maintenance of Teichert properties, including coordinating with contractors (i.e., pump repairs, fencing, etc.), establishing firebreaks, tree trimming, and refuse management.

Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
  1. Perform the duties of a Restoration Technician II in addition to the following:
  2. Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, tractors, backhoes, masticators, etc.
  3. Independently install, operate, and maintain various irrigation systems, including both manual and automated systems.
  4. Install, operate, maintain, and repair culverts and water control structures.
  5. Recommend and order materials, supplies, and equipment for upcoming restoration projects.
  6. Perform labor tasks along with labor crews to set production and quality standards.
  7. Coordinate and manage work crews and contractors. Organize workflow, timelines, and resources of concurrent projects. Adaptively manage projects under changing conditions and maintain flexibility.

Specific Job Requirements
  1. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation.
  2. Valid Driver's California License.
  3. Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts of interest.
  4. Knowledge of Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.
  5. Ability to work authorized overtime as required.
  6. Ability to work on projects requiring frequent overnight traveling.

Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing habitat restoration or landscape construction projects, and leading individuals or work crews.
  • Valid CA driver's license and good driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and supervise others.
  • Possess the strength and agility to perform maintenance work in an outdoor setting for long periods.
  • General knowledge of native plants and invasive weeds.

Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment

Equipment Used:
  • Automobile (truck), ATV/UTV, small tools, herbicide application equipment, and landscape construction equipment.
Work Environment:
  • Job sites include uneven ground, steep slopes, and exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Frequent bending and squatting throughout the day. Carrying loads of 30-40 pounds for extended periods, with occasional lifting of heavy loads up to 90 pounds. Works both alone and as a team in remote areas. Works occasionally on projects requiring overtime and overnight stays.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$33.33 - $40.16
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
