Summary:

The Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) provides strategic planning, direction and leadership for supply chain and contract management functions for all Presbyterian Health Services entities for the delivery system (hospitals, clinics, joint ventures, and health plan).

This position sets priorities and aligns resources, including personnel, contracting, finances, and vendor management, to support PHS goals and objectives. The CSCO integrates all aspects of supply chain activities throughout PHS and has overall accountability in meeting PHS objectives for all supply, services, logistics, purchasing, contract negotiation, inventory management, GPO relationships, distributor relationships, asset management, and equipment utilization for all PHS entities. They identify areas for cost and quality improvement in the areas of supplies, services, and logistics through vendor management, contract negotiation, and operational improvements working with key stakeholders to achieve optimal business outcomes.

The CSCO is responsible for developing global, financial, and operational metrics that align with the goals of PHS to achieve best in class performance. On an ongoing basis, they introduce new technology and solutions that will support the operational and strategic goals of PHS.

The CSCO will engage with key physician, clinical, and operational leaders partnering to improve cost, quality, and outcomes for all PHS business units. They are responsible for creating all relevant policies and procedures that support PHS's operational, financial, and quality performance.

Job Description:

Strategy & Operations

  • Overall responsibility for all end-to-end Supply Chain functions for all PHS business units
  • Overall responsibility for management of $1.2B in supply and purchased services spend
  • Implement cost savings strategies across all business units
  • Advise and assist organization on appropriate contracting processes and strategies
  • Negotiate and contract for market competitive pricing in supplies, services, and equipment
  • Analyze relevant supply chain metrics to ensure optimal operating financial performance
  • Oversee logistics and operations for all supply chain functions for all PHS business units
  • Support regulatory and emergency management activities associated with supply chain
  • Provide supplies, services, and equipment to support quality patient outcomes
  • Manage strategic vendor partnerships and relationships

Financial Outcomes

  • Monitor and manage facility and departmental budget, analyzing and addressing any budget variances
  • Development and distribution of supply chain key performance indicators (KPIAs) to relevant stakeholders
  • Participate in monthly operating reviews addressing supply and service variances
  • Develop action plans to address any financial variances

Leadership and Management

  • Accountable for day-to-day decisions and activities
  • Maintain understanding of industry trends through educational seminars, workshops, and professional organizations
  • Participate in organizational discussions, sharing industry-leading practices professionally and collaboratively
  • Establish effective and collaborative relationships with key physicians, clinicians, and administrative stakeholders
  • Accountable to implement regulatory, financial, environmental, clinical, and legal requirements in accordance with appropriate governing entities
  • Serve as mentor and role model for team members
  • Support and employee-related programs centered around education and recognition
  • Dedicated to an environment of continuous process improvement

Additional Job Description:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or other associated discipline preferred.
  • Master'sdegree optional 10 + years of relevant experience.
