Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a a Public Health Representative
III for the department of Pediatrics at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Implement status neutral
HIV services for ongoing engagement in
HIV prevention, care, and treatment regardless of a person's
HIV status. Provides Pre and Post
HIV test counseling in various settings including the Emergency Department using the New Jersey Department of Health
HIV Testing Standards.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs pre and post HIV test counseling for clients at risk for HIV at multiple sites.
- Provides risk reduction education to all clients and encourage repeat testing based on client risk assessment.
- Provides comprehensive / trauma informed needs assessment to all clients regardless of their HIV status and engage clients in continuous care and supportive services if needed to improve health and prevent new infections.
- Ensures that everyone tested for HIV receives a PrEP assessment and immediate link to PrEP Counselor as needed.
- Follows up with all clients regardless of their HIV status, to ensure proper referral and linkage to appropriate services.
- Solicits customer feedback to improve service and responds to requests for service and assistance.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus one (1) year community based social service experience.
- Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree.

- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) highly preferred.
