Okta is The World's Identity Company. We free everyone to safely use any technology, anywhere, on any device or app. Our flexible and neutral products, Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform, provide secure access, authentication, and automation, placing identity at the core of business security and growth.

At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we're looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences.

Join our team! We're building a world where Identity belongs to you.

Location: We're seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team in San Francisco.

About the Internship

The University Recruiting team at Okta is on a mission to build a best-in-class intern program, and we are looking for a summer intern to help us achieve that vision. You will be joining a team that is passionate about finding, growing, and retaining the next generation of talent.

This is not a typical administrative role; it is a strategic opportunity for someone interested in the intersection of Human Resources and Program Management. As our Intern, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the intern experience. Your flagship project will be designing, coordinating, and delivering Okta's first-ever Global Project Showcase, a platform for our interns worldwide to highlight their impact. If you are a builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves bringing complex ideas to life, this role is for you.

What You'll Get to Do

Lead the Global Project Showcase: You will own the end-to-end design and execution of our end-of-summer intern showcase. This involves defining the format, managing the timeline, coordinating with global stakeholders, and executing the final event.

Program Management: Act as the central point of contact for project logistics, ensuring deadlines are met and communication flows between interns, managers, and the UR team.

Event Planning & Logistics: Support the planning of various intern events (socials, executive speaker series, and workshops), handling the "behind the scenes" details that make events successful.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
  • Interest in HR/Talent: A genuine desire to learn about the recruiting lifecycle and talent development.
  • Agility & Plasticity: We are building something new, which means things change quickly. You must be comfortable "rolling with the punches," adapting to ambiguity, and maintaining a positive attitude when plans shift.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: You are detail-oriented and can keep track of multiple moving parts without letting things slip through the cracks.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you feel comfortable coordinating with people at all levels of the organization.

A Plus

  • Project Management Knowledge: Coursework in Project Management or working toward a certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP, or similar).
  • Event Experience: Previous experience planning events (campus organizations, previous internships, or volunteer work).
  • Tech Savvy: AI Native with familiarity with project management tools or HR tools/ATS.

Okta's Intern Program

As an intern, you'll do real work that matters. While you're on board, you'll work on meaningful projects and have an opportunity to see what working at Okta is all about. You'll also have the support of your mentor and manager to help you develop new skills.

Our interns have the opportunity to build a strong community - with their fellow interns, within their teams, and with the broader company. We want you to grow professionally and you'll do that through participating in events like our Executive Speaker Series and Brown Bags. And of course, we want you to have fun too. We offer 12 week internships in the U.S. in the Summer and 16 week co-ops in Canada. You may choose from the following options: May 26 - August 14 or June 15 - September 4.
