Job Description




As a Security Officer Flex in Dallas, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and communications location, you will conduct routine patrols and visibility checks, support access control, and document security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy requirements. You will deliver welcoming customer service, clear communication, and quick reporting while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and notifying the appropriate contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including offices, common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access by monitoring entrances, verifying identification and/or credentials, and directing visitors to the proper check-in process.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, and report irregular activity through the approved chain of communication.
  • Complete routine inspections of doors, gates, and restricted areas, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations to site contacts.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and service requests in written reports and/or electronic logs in a timely manner.
  • Assist with access control tasks such as issuing temporary badges, maintaining visitor logs, and coordinating with onsite personnel for escort requirements.
  • Support business continuity by assisting with building evacuations, shelter-in-place, and other emergency procedures when directed.
  • Maintain a professional presence, provide directions and general assistance, and escalate concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
