Job Description




As a Security Officer Chocolate Plant - Patrol in Lancaster, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a food and beverage location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet employees and visitors, respond to requests, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts and your team. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage manufacturing and distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, fire and alarm activations, and equipment or process-related concerns, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Control access through assigned entrances, gates, and dock areas by verifying identification, checking credentials, and directing visitors and vendors according to site procedures.
  • Monitor and document movement of vehicles, trailers, and deliveries, including checking seals and paperwork as required and reporting irregularities to management.
  • Observe for and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and unsecured doors, cages, or restricted areas, and follow escalation procedures.
  • Use radios, phones, and security-related systems to communicate status updates, request assistance, and coordinate responses with site personnel and/or local responders.
  • Complete detailed written reports and logs, including incident reports, patrol documentation, and shift turnover notes, in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
  • Support emergency and business continuity procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and accountability checks when directed by site leadership and post orders.
  • Interact professionally with the public and site staff, providing directions and general assistance while maintaining a courteous presence consistent with Allied Universal standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
