Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Roving Patrol in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a tech and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service. You will join a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, with a caring culture that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating details to site leadership and public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols around the facility, parking areas, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and documenting visitor activity per site procedures.
  • Complete routine and incident-related reports, including patrol logs, access activity, and unusual activity documentation, and submit information through required reporting tools.
  • Assist with traffic and pedestrian flow during peak periods, deliveries, and special events to support orderly movement on site.
  • Observe and report conditions that may impact operations, such as unsecured doors, damaged fencing, lighting outages, and/or suspicious activity, and escalate concerns through established channels.
  • Use communication systems, including radios and phones, to coordinate with other Allied Universal personnel and site contacts while maintaining professional customer service.
  • Support site emergency procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and/or medical response by following post orders and providing clear directions to occupants.
  • Control and track keys, badges, and/or other access items when assigned, following chain-of-custody and documentation requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Possess a guard card and/or license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
