As a Delinquency Specialist, you will have a meaningful opportunity to support children involved in juvenile delinquency and dependency/severance cases. In this vital role, you will work closely with our defense attorneys by opening and tracking cases, identifying potential conflicts, maintaining up-to-date case statuses, and ensuring the accuracy of all case information. Your work will directly contribute to effective advocacy for those who need it most. We Require
Three years of progressively responsible clerical experience in a legal, court, or justice system environment High school diploma or GED Related post-secondary education may substitute for one year of required experience. (Relevant degrees include legal studies, criminal justice, public administration, public policy, or similar fields)

Job Contributions
Reviews petitions and police reports to determine potential conflicts for the office to ensure the case can be accepted Research and review the case management system to determine conflicts Communicates with attorney supervisors to staff the case to determine if conflict or which party we can accept as a client. Researches and resolves errors in the case management system to ensure attorneys receive accurate information Communicates daily/hourly with the Office of Public Defense Services and the court on the ability to accept cases Runs ICIS calendars to make sure all cases have been assigned Reads court and case documents, such as minute entries, to update case files, court calendars, and case management systems Prepares and files routine legal and administrative correspondence and processes closed files Opens cases in the case management system Updates and coordinates attorney calendars to avoid scheduling conflicts Assists both internal and external customers with requests for electronic files or records Learn the Dependency Specialist duties to assist as a backup
Working Conditions
Office setting in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with possible stressful situations Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities May require the ability to lift boxes, floor to waist,up to 25 pounds and carry, push, or pull a distance of 15 feet Hybrid and alternative work schedule options are available after the training, based on business needs
