Position Summary:
As a member of the Corporate Strategy team, you will help shape BBU's competitive strategy by supporting internal consulting and research projects.The Analyst,Corporate Strategy will work across the core BBU business, creating value by solving the most important strategic questions within the organization, including:
  • Leading research and analysis by leveraging a variety of primary and secondary data sources for identifying both organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Identifying, synthesizing, and communicating key trends across industries, segments, regions, and competitors.
  • Supporting the Business Categories and Business Units by contributing to the development of strategies that drive above-market organic and inorganic growth.
  • Ensuring that the business strategies which he/she/they support clearly articulate the business choices, are well-defined, describe resource requirements and arrive at actionable insights.
Key Job Responsibilities:
-Assist in strategy development that enables the organization to frame and make critical decisions to profitably grow and defend the business.Help the organization to refine its "where to play" and "how to win" choices to drive growth, improve profitability, and sustain competitive advantage.
- Assist joint Corporate and Business Unit teams in solving complex business problems using a hands-on, hypothesis-driven approach:
  • Develop project deliverables and executive presentation documents.
  • Lead primary and secondary research.
  • Frame discussion of findings and recommendations.
  • Help monitor progress deploying BBU's strategic plans and identify major strategic changes over a prior year using metrics, roadmaps, dashboards & financials.
-Partners with Finance colleagues to understand the financial impact of strategic decisions. Assist businesses to identify and develop plans to close performance gaps.
-Assist projects to:
  • Develop and document an understanding of different product categories, segments, customers and retail channels.
  • Develop timely, well-informed analysis of the competitive landscape (both existing and emerging).
  • Analyze industry structure, go-to-market models, competitive dynamics, and market attractiveness and its likely evolution to inform strategy development and priority setting.
-Support national scale, cross-functional transformational projects:
  • Assist cross-functional, often virtual, teams - to maintain steady progress, coordinating workstreams.
  • Support the design and implementation of projects to execute on strategic objectives.
-Perform other job-related duties as needed.
-Analytics, Problem Solving, Work Structure and Management, and Communications:
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple such projects concurrently on required timelines.
  • Proficient in creating value through the application of advanced data analytics.
  • Ability to structure and solve complex problems using a hypothesis-driven approach in close collaboration with other team members.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills - ability to synthesize and effectively communicate key messages.
-Ability to apply strategy tools, frameworks, and processes.

-Education and Work History:
  • 1-2+ years of cumulative business experience in an analytical role in finance, sales, supply chain or M&A/Venture.
  • Track record of dealing with strategic business issues including economics, industry structure, operations strategy, and finance.
-Travel
  • Willingness to travel occasionally based on business demand.Travel is typically infrequent.
-Education
  • Bachelor's degree required (BBA, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other Technology/Business related fields).
