Job Description




As a Security Officer - City Hall Patrol in Union, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location supporting youth services, where you will monitor activity, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents. You will document observations, respond to situations with calm communication, and deliver professional customer service to staff and visitors. This role values teamwork and integrity, with an agile, reliable, and innovative approach, and comfort using a computer and/or tablet.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate site contacts and/or public services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, sally ports, and controlled access points as assigned, verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor logs per policy.
  • Support operations in a government juvenile services location by maintaining professional conduct, clear communication, and appropriate boundaries when interacting with youth and staff.
  • Observe for unusual behavior, contraband indicators, and/or unauthorized items, and report findings according to site procedures.
  • Complete written reports, incident documentation, and daily activity logs with accurate, timely details.
  • Assist with counts, movement control, and controlled area checks as directed by site policies and post orders.
  • Operate site security-related equipment such as radios, CCTV, and alarm panels, and report malfunctions and/or irregularities.
  • Participate in drills and required training, and follow chain of command for notifications and response activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • - Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • - Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • - Have customer service experience preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
