About This Role

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics seeks a 9-month term Instructor beginning Fall 2026. The position will include an opportunity to work temporarily over the summer, with the possibility of a summer teaching assignment prior to the Fall appointment.

Worksite Description

This position is Hybrid eligible. The selected candidate should expect to teach in-person classes, with hybrid options for online courses.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related discipline upon start of position or before August 2026


The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Teaching experience in any life science or natural science discipline

    • Experience as Graduate Teaching Assistant satisfies this requirement


  • Commitment to excellence in instruction and to innovative teaching approaches
  • Two years of teaching experience in the relevant discipline at an academic institution, including experience in online instructions


Sponsorship eligibility:

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
