As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and requests, assist students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and professional service, and document observations as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to campus staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disturbances, and medical situations, and notify appropriate parties.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials as required by post orders, helping to manage visitor entry and direct guests to appropriate destinations.
• Perform security-related inspections during patrols, looking for hazards, unsecured doors, propped entrances, suspicious activity, and policy violations, and report findings per procedure.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter policy violations, trespassing, and disruptive behavior, while providing courteous directions and assistance.
• Complete security-related reports, activity logs, and incident documentation with accurate details and timely notifications.
• Operate site and/or post equipment such as radios, phones, badge systems, and basic surveillance tools in accordance with training and site procedures.
• Coordinate with campus administrators and/or local responders during incidents, providing timely updates and supporting scene management as directed.
• Follow established escalation procedures for prohibited items, unauthorized access, and after-hours building checks, including lock and unlock verification when assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• - Customer service experience is preferred.
• - Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• - Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
• - Baton certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
• - Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
