What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility disturbances, unauthorized access concerns, and disorderly conduct.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification as directed by post orders, and assist with visitor check-in and/or credential verification.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and other security-related systems, and communicate observed issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Control entry to restricted areas, support badge and key control procedures, and report access concerns through established channels.
  • Write detailed reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, including documentation of actions taken and notifications made.
  • Assist with de-escalation by using verbal intervention techniques and requesting additional support when needed.
  • Coordinate with Allied Universal leadership, site management, and public resources such as law enforcement and/or fire services during incidents and drills.
  • Conduct routine checks for unsecured doors, damaged property, hazards, and suspicious items, and report findings per site procedures.
  • Direct foot and vehicle traffic when needed, including supporting emergency vehicle access and restricted area closures.
  • Support site rules related to prohibited items, contraband, and property removal by observing, reporting, and escalating per policy.
  • Provide guidance to visitors regarding directions, public entrances, and site expectations while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Participate in required training, briefings, and post order updates, and follow chain-of-command communication expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
