Job Description




As a Security Officer - Credit Union Patrol in West Des Moines, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal at a financial institution location as an unarmed Patrol Officer, monitoring assigned areas and completing routine patrols to help to deter incidents. You will remain visible, support access control and visitor flow, and deliver strong customer service and clear communication with staff and guests. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and escalation protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including lobby areas, offices, ATM areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor and control access to restricted areas, verifying identification and/or authorization for employees, vendors, contractors, and visitors as required by site policy.
  • Observe for unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, suspicious behavior, loitering, and/or potential hazards, and report findings to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures by performing security-related checks of designated areas, access points, and alarm status per site-specific instructions.
  • Support incident response for events such as disturbances, medical situations, and/or fire alarms by coordinating with site leadership and public responders when directed.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activity, patrols, and incidents, including accurate documentation of times, actions taken, and notifications made.
  • Operate site communications and monitoring tools as assigned, such as radios, phones, and/or video surveillance systems, and report observed issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Promote a professional presence by providing directions, answering questions, and helping to resolve customer and employee concerns within the scope of post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
