As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with professional communication, respond to reports, and document observations. Guided by a caring culture and teamwork, you will act with integrity while staying agile, reliable, and innovative on every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random interior and exterior patrols of hospital units, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor management by following sign-in practices, directing foot traffic, and reporting concerns through the proper channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, medical emergency support requests, and fire and/or life alarm notifications.
  • Observe and report hazards, maintenance issues, and policy violations that could impact operations, and communicate findings to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Complete incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation with clear, timely, and accurate details.
  • Use radios, phones, and security-related systems such as access control and cameras as assigned, and promptly report equipment issues.
  • Support a respectful, professional environment by de-escalating conflicts when possible and requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Assist with patient-related escorts, staff escorts, and service vendor escorts as requested, consistent with site policies and training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccines are required for this hospital site.
  • The ability to restrain individuals is required for this hospital site.
  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
