Essential Job Duties
This full-time, non-tenure-track position will involve teaching undergraduate accounting, Master of Accounting, and MBA accounting courses, with a focus on managerial accounting, cost accounting, and applied financial management, or related courses.
In this role you will engage both undergraduate and graduate students in traditional and/or online learning environments, bring strong disciplinary expertise in accounting and a commitment to high-quality, student-centered instruction.
Responsibilities:

  • Teaching constitutes 80% of the position, with the expectation that the successful candidate will teach 24 semester credit hours per academic year, typically 1-4 sections of each assigned course.
  • Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate, Master of Accounting, and MBA accounting courses, as determined by departmental needs.
  • Service constitutes 20% of the position, with the expectation that the successful candidate will actively participate in department, college, and university service activities. These activities will be assigned by the Department Head and may include committee service, engagement with student organizations, and other initiatives at the discretion of the Department Head.
  • Develop and deliver assigned courses under the direction of the Department Head, ensuring alignment with departmental learning objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as a contributing and collaborative member of the Accounting Department and the College faculty.


We seek an enthusiastic, student-centered, and dedicated educator to join our Accounting Department and support the academic success and professional development of our undergraduate students.

The anticipated start date for this position is August 15, 2026.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • A Master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field is required for appointment at the Lecturer level.

    • For teaching graduate-level courses A terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Accounting or a closely related field.



  • or Alternative credentialing or professional qualifications may be considered in lieu of traditional academic preparation, consistent with institutional and accreditation standards.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, particularly managerial accounting, cost accounting, and applied financial management.
  • Strong instructional skills in traditional, hybrid, and/or online learning environments.
  • Solid disciplinary knowledge in accounting with the ability to apply concepts to real-world business contexts.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate productively with faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Commitment to high-quality, student-centered teaching and continuous instructional improvement.
  • Willingness to participate in department, college, and university service activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Master of Accounting and/or MBA courses.
  • Prior professional experience in accounting or a related business field.
  • Experience with online course design, learning management systems, and active learning or case-based instruction.
  • Interest in student mentoring, curriculum development, and departmental initiatives.
