Description and Requirements

We're looking for a high-potential Master's student with strong analytical horsepower, eagerness to learn, and a startup execution mindset. This intern will support Lenovo ISG's Category organization across Pricing, Demand Planning, and Operational Excellence. The role blends technical analytics (SQL/Python), dashboard development, business insights, and cross-functional collaboration-ideal for someone who wants real ownership and end-to-end impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical datasets using SQL, Python, and other data tools to support pricing, planning, and performance initiatives.
  • Build and automate dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar) to surface performance metrics, trends, and insights for leadership.
  • Analyze business data to identify patterns, anomalies, or improvement opportunities; translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Category, Pricing, Finance, Demand Planning, GEO leaders) to gather requirements and validate outputs.
  • Prepare executive-ready summaries and visualization packages for weekly leadership reviews.
  • Drive mini-projects end-to-end-from problem statement to data extraction to storytelling.
  • Participate in transformation workstreams, bringing fresh thinking, structure, and analytical rigor.
  • Document processes and improvements, ensuring clarity and repeatability.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Strong SQL proficiency for data extraction and dataset preparation.
  • Working knowledge of Python for analytics, modeling, automation, or dataset preparation (Pandas, NumPy, etc.).
  • Experience with dashboarding tools (Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent).
  • Strong data storytelling and visualization capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with senior leaders and diverse global teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset-comfortable with ambiguity, fast iterations, and hands-on problem solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently while delivering high-quality output.

What Success Looks Like

  • You build dashboards that leadership actually uses weekly.
  • You uncover insights that help improve forecast accuracy, pricing health, or operational efficiency.
  • You bring structure, speed, and new thinking into Category's transformation work.
  • You integrate quickly with global teams and communicate clearly.
