Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate, the Assistant General Counsel - Employment will maintain broad responsibility for developing and delivering on successful strategies related to Ecolab's employment practices, including employment litigation, while establishing strategies and processes for complying with relevant employment laws and regulations. The AGC will also oversee the management and resolution of employment claims (including discrimination and trade secrets), work with the employment law team members to implement strategies, policies, and trainings to reduce the risk of future claims and liability and manage outside counsel. This position will lead and manage the employment law team. What's in it For You:

What You Will Do:
- Strategic oversight of Ecolab's portfolio of employment litigation matters across diverse substantive areas.
- Supervising outside employment counsel, supporting pre-dispute conflicts and audits, and reviewing position statements for state and federal administrative agency filings (e.g., Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)).
- Efficiently managing and improving processes related to outside legal counsel budget, work, and cost.
- Engaging with senior executives and other law team members on executive compensation and employment-law related corporate governance matters.
- With other members of the employment law team, establishing enterprise-wide strategies for compliance with employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination laws, leave and disability laws, (e.g., Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)), pay equity laws (e.g., promotion and level progression), Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and the National Labor Relations Act.
- Mitigating employment and labor disputes by proactively reviewing high-risk employee discipline and termination decisions, conducting internal investigations, and providing guidance during workforce management actions.
- Providing thought leadership - developing and delivering on successful employment law strategies to achieve best-possible outcomes on individual matters, litigation portfolios, and strategic initiatives.
- Driving engagement across cross-functional teams.
- Developing and managing talent on your team and through strategic collaborations with other functions and divisions.
- Utilizing strong communication skills, constructively engage in sensitive discussions with associates from all businesses and functions at Ecolab and all levels of seniority.
- Self-motivated approach with a passion for understanding Ecolab's business and contributing in a meaningful way to its strategy and long-term strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least seven (7) years of legal experience with an expertise in employment law and significant litigation experience.
- Seasoned judgment and the ability to apply broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex legal and business issues.
- Business acumen with the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate (both orally and in written form) effectively with senior business leaders and other professionals and colleagues at all levels of an organization.
- Some executive compensation and employment law-related corporate governance experience.
- Capable of prioritizing and managing a large volume of concurrent projects.
- Team player with the ability to work well cross-functionally and in a team environment. An independent thinker who appreciates and offers diversity of opinion.
- Experience developing talent.
- Unquestioned integrity, credibility, and judgment.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The base salary range for this position is $169,100.00 - $253,700.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentives based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
