Job Summary
The Project Manager oversees the development and implementation of new or existing products and services by coordinating departmental and cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and completing projects while ensuring alignment with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives. The Project Manager applies project management best practices, identifies and mitigates risks, and supports continuous improvement across project teams.
Job Responsibilities


  • Estimate project effort levels and resource needs by using standard estimating methods and collaborating with appropriate staff
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets by using project management tools and working with team members to define required tasks
  • Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking progress, managing schedules, and identifying project risks
  • Create and implement contingency plans to resolve project challenges and maintain project timelines
  • Coordinate issue resolution by working closely with team members, stakeholders, and project customers
  • Ensure project quality by applying standard development methodologies and partnering with quality teams to develop and execute quality plans
  • Support work in a quality system environment and adhere to applicable regulations
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports and participate in project status review meetings
  • Share project management knowledge with internal teams and provide guidance or mentorship to junior project leaders
  • Apply sound judgment within established procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions
  • Evaluate technical alternatives and assess their impact on system environments


Job Requirements

  • Experience with medical device development, design controls, and quality management systems (2-5 years preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Project and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Windchill or similar engineering document management systems preferred
  • Strong understanding of project management practices and quality system environments
  • Ability to analyze moderately complex problems and determine solutions within defined procedures
  • Broad knowledge of technical concepts, alternatives, and system-level impact
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills


Education

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of related experience, or
  • Master's degree with 0-2 years of related experience, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience


Work Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in medical device product development
