Job Description

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $95,000 *dependent on experience* + quarterly bonus

SUMMARY:

Develop and improve the Quality Management System designed to meet all customer and third-party requirements and internal goals established by plant management. This involves managing and establishing metrics and data in all operations of the process in all departments; auditing procedure and frequency to ensure conformance to established procedures; and monitoring trends and developing corrective action.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Review drawings and related specification on new programs. Inform Engineering of quality requirements to ensure conformance of initial samples and subsequent production. Direct the preparation of the Inspection Method Sheet and other customer required documentation to ensure timely customer approval of initial submission.
  • Manage individual customer self-release programs including procedure preparation and maintenance, purchase order/control review, inspection of parts (audit/sampling) for conformance to requirements, direct contact with customer representatives, and handling any customer returns/complaints.
  • Investigate quality complaints from customers and establish corrective action by working with Engineering and Production Departments as required.
  • Work with customers on MRB resolutions.
  • Conduct internal, external, and customer audits as required.
  • Participate in MRB activities determining rework methods and establish corrective action.
  • Work as the primary customer contact for FAI completion and submission activity.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
  • Participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
  • Report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
  • Perform any physical functions of the position as described below.
  • Meet established attendance standards. Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • BS degree in engineering or related discipline preferred, or 4 - 6 years of related quality experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of investment casting processes and quality assurance methods and techniques, materials, metallurgical and ceramic aspects and requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge and use of advanced shop mathematics, QC statistics and formulas.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - specifically, Excel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
