Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, detaildriven Production Planner to support both daytoday manufacturing execution and longerrange new product qualification planning across multiple process areas. This role ensures production readiness, drives work order creation and prioritization, supports operational scheduling, and partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensure commitments are met.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys crossfunctional problemsolving, and can balance production execution with strategic product coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Job Management

  • Create, release, and manage work orders for specific manufacturing processes in a metal fabrication facility.
  • Manage weekly production release files and ensure accurate, timely job flow into manufacturing.
  • Maintain and communicate priority updates for production and qualification jobs.
  • Support and troubleshoot within MES and ERP systems (serving as a superuser for issue resolution).
  • Conduct weekly operations schedule reviews with manufacturing teams.
  • Provide daily commitment updates to downstream partners.

Material & Workflow Coordination

  • Ensure routing, materials, and BOM elements are correctly aligned for production execution.
  • Coordinate with buyers, material coordinators, analysts, and production teams on part readiness and issue resolution.
  • Monitor job progression, yields, and closures; address discrepancies and facilitate corrections.

Customer & Stakeholder Commitments

  • Own and communicate commit dates to internal customers for production parts.
  • Escalate constraints, shortages, and risks proactively with datadriven analysis.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between planning, manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain partners.

Transfer, Qualification & Continuous Improvement

  • Write and manage qualification work orders across all process areas.
  • Maintain new product and productionrelated planning documentation.
  • Participate in crossfunctional checkpoint meetings and own assigned action items.
  • Support production moves between orgs, ensuring readiness of routings, resources, materials, and systems.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing workflows, job structures, and production routings.
  • Experience using ERP/MES systems (e.g., Oracle, OpCenter, Preactor, or equivalent).
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple moving parts with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for crossfunctional coordination and customerfacing updates.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting both production and NPI workflows.
  • Familiarity with machining, plating, hermetics assembly, or other precision manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of BOM setup, job costing, yields analysis, or scheduling methodologies.
  • Experience working in a highmix, lowvolume production environment.
