Commercial Loan Officer

Staffmark is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to drive business development, manage commercial relationships, and grow a high-quality loan and deposit portfolio. This role is ideal for a proven lender who enjoys autonomy, community engagement, and a clear path into future leadership.

Compensation & Schedule



  • Base Salary: $70,000-$90,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Incentives:

    • Annual performance bonus up to 40% of base salary
    • Quarterly commissions tied to loan production and fee income


  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Occasional local travel for client and community meetings

Key Responsibilities



  • Originate new commercial loans and deposit relationships within the local market
  • Proactively prospect and develop new business opportunities
  • Manage and grow an assigned commercial loan portfolio
  • Identify fee-based income and secondary market opportunities
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for commercial clients
  • Conduct ongoing portfolio reviews to ensure credit quality and profitability
  • Prepare credit memos and loan presentations in accordance with policy
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting, documentation, and regulatory standards
  • Represent the bank at community and business networking events
  • Collaborate with branch leadership and internal partners to support growth


Qualifications



  • 5+ years of lending or financial sales experience (commercial preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial credit, loan structures, and documentation
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-based business development
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, financial software, and Microsoft Office
  • Professional, ethical, and discreet in handling confidential information
  • Self-driven with interest in long-term leadership opportunities
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
