Position Location Policy
General Location: Cleveland, OH, Open to candidates within the KeyBank office (non-branch location) in Eastern, Central and Mountain time zones. Ohio highly preferred.
Hybrid Requirement (if within specific cities): If the selected candidate resides in Cleveland, OH, Buffalo, NY, or Albany, NY, they are expected to work on-site 3 days per week at the nearest KeyBank office (non-branch location). Remote Option: If the selected candidate lives outside of KeyBank's geographic footprint, the position will be considered fully remote. East Coast time zone schedule required
Job Summary As part of the Commercial Events team, the Corporate Events Planner works to develop, plan, execute, measure, and effectively communicate client events and tradeshows within the Commercial Bank. This role is responsible for all activities associated with these special events, including planning, logistics, communication, and onsite support.
Essential Functions
- Partner with team members to understand event and tradeshow goals and requirements.
- Plan and coordinate event logistics, including venue and vendor sourcing.
- Generate ideas for gifts, entertainment, and other vendor needs.
- Oversee sourcing, shipping, and print materials for assigned events.
- Provide onsite event support as needed.
- Support internal events when required.
- Manage registration sites, updates, and invitations.
- Create email invitations and coordinate marketing deliverables.
- Develop preevent communications, including logistics and session details.
- Lead marketing and communications for client events and tradeshows.
- Share attendance updates and recaps with stakeholders.
- Manage travel, expenses, and event budgets.
- Maintain project plans, expense trackers, invoices, and other administrative tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
- Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent experience events, marketing, communications (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years direct experience in events, marketing, communications role
- Applied experience in project management
- Experience developing communications or marketing materials, events communication/ marketing preferred
Skills
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and related Office applications to support event tracking, reporting, and creation of professional materials.
- Experienced using project management tools to manage timelines, tasks, and workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within team environments and across line of business leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills used to support stakeholders and event execution.
- Strong ability to manage details, timelines, logistics, and multiple concurrent deliverables.
- Strong ability to convey information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- Ability to be proactive and demonstrate leadership in situations without direct authority.

Physical Demands
- General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.
Travel
- Up to 25% travel with overnight stay.
Driving Requirements
- Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $63,000.00 - $96,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
