Senior Manager, Accounting
Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Accounting is a critical leadership role within DiaSorin's North America Finance organization, responsible for driving excellence in accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement across supported business units. This role provides strategic leadership and hands-on management of general ledger activities, close processes, financial controls, audit readiness, and cross-functional financial initiatives.

Aligned with competitor benchmarks from leading diagnostics, biotech, and medical device companies, this role emphasizes technical expertise in U.S. GAAP/IFRS, strong operational leadership, data-driven decision making, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

The Senior Manager, Accounting will lead a high-performing team, partner closely with Finance leadership, and support the organization through periods of transformation, system optimization, and growth.


Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Close Management

  • Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation prepared by the team.
  • Manage general ledger accounting and ensure compliance with internal controls and Group Reporting standards.
  • Analyze financial results, trends, and variances; provide actionable insights to senior leadership.


Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Maintain documentation and support SOX/internal controls requirements.
  • Partner with tax, treasury, and corporate accounting teams on reporting and compliance matters.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals across North America.
  • Establish development plans, foster a continuous learning environment, and support career growth.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.


Process Improvement & Systems Optimization

  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes.
  • Evaluate systems and tools, collaborating with IT and Finance partners to optimize ERP performance (SAP preferred).
  • Strengthen internal controls and improve workflow efficiency across accounting functions.


Business Partnership & Strategic Support

  • Serve as a key advisor to Finance leadership and operational teams.
  • Prepare financial analyses to support strategic decision-making, business cases, and operational initiatives.
  • Provide expertise on accounting implications related to new business activities or organizational changes.
  • Support cross-functional projects including supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, and commercial teams.



Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business a plus.


Experience

  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in diagnostics, medical devices, biotech, or a related industry.
  • Experience managing accounting teams in multi-site or matrixed environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP, with audit experience preferred.
  • Experience working in large-scale ERP systems (SAP highly preferred).
  • Background supporting manufacturing, supply chain, or cost accounting processes is a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Office or hybrid work environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15%.
