Join Airgas for a comprehensive, two-year immersive leadership program designed to empower high-potential graduates into Plant Management roles. As a Plant Operations Trainee, you will be welcomed into a supported environment designed to provide a solid foundation in our industry, our customers, and our organization. Our goal is to prepare you to contribute to and advance our shared organizational goals-focusing on thoughtful optimization of resources, nurturing and supporting our teams, and fostering a culture of safety at an Airgas plant.

  • Operate and safely maintain plant operations and distribution for cylinder packaged gasses while supporting the team in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local regulations, and company policies and procedures.

  • Schedule and facilitate safety meetings

  • Partner on testing and maintenance needs relative to production demands, working in conjunction with Production and Distribution managers.

  • Coordinate cylinder warehousing; maintain quality control and other required records (DOT, FDA, EPA, Airgas, etc.).

  • Coordinate training and support for all cylinder testers and cylinder maintenance personnel.

  • Develop plans for an effective preventative maintenance program for all testing and maintenance equipment.

  • Develop tracking system for all cylinders received from and shipped to other locations.

  • Prepare budgets for staffing, equipment, and facility improvement needs.

  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace.

  • Support the team in ensuring all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported within 24 hours.

  • Ensure all safety rules are diligently followed and safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted and documented.

  • Provide coaching and guidance promptly, to ensure that areas for development are identified, documented and nurtured toward acceptable performance, or transitioned when necessary.

  • Ensure employee complaints, safety concerns, grievances, etc. are responsively resolved.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; ideally related to Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Engineering.

  • Collaborative leadership skills; ability to support and thrive within team environments.

  • Professional communication skills (verbal and written); thoughtful problem-solving skills and administrative accuracy.

  • Proficiency in time management and organization skills; ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and manage your workflow effectively.

  • Motivated to grow your career in Operations, Production, Distribution, or Supply Chain leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to help us pioneer process improvements.

  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced industrial environment, showing a collaborative approach to solving operational challenges.

  • SAP or similar ERP systems to support our administrative accuracy and data integrity.

  • Interest in developing advanced safety certifications (such as ASP/CSP) to further nurture our culture of well-being.

  • A community-oriented mindset with the ability to foster understanding across different departments and seniority levels.
