Requisition Number:R157852 Mental Health Therapist- Consult Liaison Team (Open) How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:The Mental Health Therapists provides therapeutic services to patients from young adult through advanced adulthood. Services include provision of initial assessment, individual, family and group therapy. Works as a member of the multidisciplinary team. No supervisory responsibilities or duties. Orients new employees and may provide guidance to volunteers, students, support or contract staff. Erroneously exercised judgments regarding interpretations of compliant behavior may have negative effects on the organization (i.e., reimbursement, human resources, clinical pathways). Communication commonly occurs with internal and/or external entities to provide problem-solving, consultation, advising or interpretation services. Accesses, enters and/or updates confidential information. Appropriately shares and makes decisions based on this information as a regular responsibility of the job. Provides input into budget and cost containment initiatives. Work is generally performed in an office environment and involves sitting, standing or walking. Light effort is required to carry boxes, office supplies or use light tools. May be exposed to infectious diseases, bio-hazardous materials and combative patients. Varied and complex work is performed under general guidance in patient care environment and is often fast paced, requiring use of prioritization skills. Work involves application of advanced knowledge and skills or patient care. Refers issues outside of scope to licensed professional. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development. Must provide own transportation and may be required to travel to other Carilion work sites to meet staffing needs.
