Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. General Function:

Provides leadership for the College's employer partnerships, community-facing workforce initiatives, and revenue-generating training services across a multi-campus service area. The position advances both Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) strategies by strengthening employer engagement, expanding learner access to workforce programming, and supporting the delivery of high-quality, market-responsive training solutions aligned with regional labor market needs. The Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to grow sustainable workforce revenue, increase participation, and reinforce the College's role in regional economic and workforce development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and three years progressively responsible experience in B2B sales, workforce training, career development, economic development, or employer partnerships within higher education, government, or industry including success meeting revenue or production targets and experience teaching or facilitating professional development or workforce-related courses. Possess and maintain a valid Tennessee Driver License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's earned from a regionally accredited institution and three or more years of enterprise, government, or public-sector sales experience including success meeting revenue or production targets, designing customized workforce training solutions, developing pricing proposals, and authoring statements of work. Possess and maintain a valid Tennessee Driver License.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Provides leadership for integrated B2B and B2C workforce engagement strategies, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, labor market demand, and community workforce needs.
  • Leads employer partnership development and revenue-generating workforce initiatives, supporting both customized employer solutions and open-enrollment community programs. Delivers annual targets for B2B and B2C revenue and contact hour production set in alignment with institutional goals.
  • Manages B2B sales pipeline development, qualification, forecasting, and conversion in coordination with division leadership and marketing teams.
  • Acts as the primary lead for proposal development, pricing strategies, statements of work, and implementation planning for employer and partner training initiatives.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for assigned employers and workforce partners from opportunity development through service delivery, satisfaction, renewal, and expansion.
  • Collaborates with curriculum developers, faculty, and workforce leadership to translate employer and community demand into new or customized training programs, micro credentials, and stackable pathways.
  • Supports coordinated B2B and B2C marketing, outreach, and enrollment strategies in partnership with the marketing team and enrollment services.
  • Leads or supports employer engagement events, industry meetings, hiring initiatives, and talent pipeline activities; represents the College at workforce, chamber, and economic development functions.
  • Oversees accurate CRM, contact hour, revenue, and employer interaction data in assigned platforms to support reporting, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Produces regular workforce performance, contact hour, employer engagement, and revenue reports; analyzes trends and outcomes; and provides data-informed recommendations to division leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with college officials, fellow employees, and other stakeholder's on matters pertinent to the college including interpersonal, public speaking or presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding workforce development systems, non-credit and customized training models, micro credentials, and stackable credential pathways.
  • Ability to analyze labor market and employer demand to inform program development.
  • Skill in consultative relationship development, account management, proposal development, and solution alignment.
  • Ability to work independently or as a leader / member of a team or cross functional team, to manage time and resources, to prioritize, focus, foster teamwork and shift focus as needed to effectively and efficiently fulfill assigned duties.
  • Ability to evaluate data, prepare forecasts, and generate performance reports
  • Strong proficiency with CRM, marketing automation, and collaboration platforms.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Tennessee driver's license and ability to travel throughout the College's service region and surrounding areas to meet employer, customer, or community needs.
