The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.

We are looking for you!

  • Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

  • Length: 10 Week Internship Program

  • Relocation: No Relocation will be provided for this position

The Industrial Performance Group enhances the reliability, efficiency, availability, and safety of industrial technologies and supply chains. Leveraging Data Science/AI, Operations Research, physical modeling, and process engineering, the team delivers digital solutions that drive growth, optimize maintenance, reduce carbon footprint, and generate a multi-million-dollar annual impact.

The core task for the intern is the creation of a Python-based toolkit specifically designed for the performance analysis of an industrial process. This role requires collaborating with researchers and plant operators to understand the process, collect and analyze operational data, and subsequently deliver actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire business and data domain knowledge through interactions with diverse stakeholders.

  • Contribute to all project phases: data collection, visualization, modeling, and analytical reporting.

  • Work both independently and collaboratively with Air Liquide research scientists, engineers, and clients from business to accomplish complex tasks that deliver demonstrable value to the Group

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, statistics, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of Python, and the tools and libraries in the data science ecosystem (pandas, Numpy, scikit-learn).

  • Interest in answering challenging, open-ended research questions with real-world impact.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, clean and well written code with high time efficiency, as well as clear visualization that tells stories.

  • Eager to learn everyday.

The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
