Your Role

Gensler is seeking a Compliance Counsel to support the development and execution of our global compliance and ethics program. Reporting to the Director of Global Compliance, this role will help strengthen our riskbased compliance framework and support initiatives across regions and offices. This position is ideal for a midlevel compliance professional who enjoys advising on complex issues, collaborating with crossfunctional partners, and contributing to a strong culture of ethics and integrity. The role may be based on-site (5 days per week) in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, or Washington, D.C.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a compliance professional with a desire to understand the business of design and work with creative leaders to promote a culture of ethics and integrity. Gensler is a people-first firm and this role requires an individual with exceptional communication skills who can collaborate with other groups (e.g., legal, HR, IT) and who can be a trusted advisor to leadership. We are not just looking for an extremely talented legal professional; we need someone with a passion for people and for building a culture of ethics and integrity.

What You Will Do

  • Execute and enhance Gensler's global compliance and ethics program.

  • Advise on compliance risks in new, developing, and higherrisk markets.

  • Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies and track action plans.

  • Support marketspecific risk reviews for emerging geographies.

  • Develop and deliver ethics training, communications, and educational materials.

  • Draft and update firm policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Guide teams on data privacy and thirdparty due diligence.

  • Conduct internal investigations related to ethics or regulatory issues.

  • Maintain compliance records and assist with reporting to senior leadership and the Board.

Your Qualifications

  • Active bar admission in the United States (any state).

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ethics and compliance or investigations.

  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and risk management practices.

  • Exceptional communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and senior leaders. Able to communicate the importance of our ethical culture and our values.

  • Experience with data privacy and/or antibribery/anticorruption (ABAC) frameworks and/or supporting compliance in new, emerging, or highgrowth international markets.

  • Willingness to travel to our Gensler offices.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, positive.

**If this position is located in Los Angeles, the compensation range will be $160-180k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience**

**If this position is located in Washington, DC the compensation range will be $155k-$175k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience**
