Zayo is looking for an experienced Product Owner who can embed quickly into agile teams and ensure continuity in backlog creation & management, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment in anticipation of acquisition. Potential for contract to hire as long term strategy unfolds.

Scope of Work:

The Product Owner will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for one or more agile delivery teams.

  • Creating, managing and refining the team backlog in alignment business objectives

  • Writing clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Prioritizing work based on value delivery, dependencies, and team capacity. Participating in key agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, daily stand-ups).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful product delivery during organizational transitions.

  • Partnering with business SMEs for domain knowledge transfer

  • Partnering with Portfolio and Program Managers to align and prioritize overall business strategy and guide backlog refinement.

  • Engaging with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into product requirements.

  • Ensuring delivered functionality meets business expectations and acceptance criteria.

  • Escalating risks or blockers that impact delivery timelines or scope.

  • Serving as the voice of the customer and internal stakeholders, ensuring business continuity.

  • Data driven insights - Leverages metrics, analytics, and feedback loops to validate assumptions, measure success, and guide product decisions

  • Monitoring and communicating KPIs related to product performance, user adoption, and operational readiness in the context of post-merger integration.

  • Adaptability and continuous improvement - Thrives in a fast-changing environment, continuously learning and adapting based on feedback and evolving market needs.

Deliverables:

  • A groomed and prioritized product backlog for assigned teams

  • Documented user stories with clear acceptance criteria

  • Participation in all agile ceremonies

  • Weekly progress reports or updates to key stakeholders

  • Clear articulation of risks, blockers, and mitigation plans

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Product Owner

  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or equivalent)

  • Proven experience translating business requirements into technical deliverables

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, LucidChat, or similar

Optional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

  • Experience working with decentralized or offshore agile teams

  • Familiarity with telecom systems like OSS/BSS, network inventory, service activation, and billing

  • Experience in telecommunications and/or software delivery

Estimated base salary range: $95,100 - $146,300 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.

The posting will be active for a minimum of 3 days. The active posting will continue to extend by 3 days until the position is filled.
