Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking to hire a Senior Manager for Operations Support. Reporting to the Nuclear Facility Manager/Operations and Maintenance Director, the Operations Support Manager provides integrated mission support to enable safe, compliant, and efficient nuclear facility operations. This role works closely with the Operations Manager and will oversee mission enablement function, with the primary functions around focusing on production operations supporting mission critical operational activities executed by both operations and R&D workgroups. This position will also support other duties related to waste disposition, workforce support, training and qualification systems, logistics, planning, execution support, administrative controls, and mission readiness activities. This position ensures operational execution is supported with the resources, processes, and services necessary to achieve mission deliverables in alignment with DOE requirements, contractor expectations, and facility conduct of operations standards.

Mission Execution and Enablement & Support

  • Lead production activities related to both operations and R&D critical mission scope.
  • Provide mission services that enable nuclear operations execution and mission success.
  • Coordinate support functions required for daily and long-range operations plans.
  • Ensure operational workforce receives timely support, resources, and services.
  • Interface with organizational support groups to remove mission execution barriers.
  • Support facility readiness, availability, and mission planning processes.
  • Manage administrative systems supporting nuclear / non-nuclear operations execution.

Workforce & Training Support

  • Oversee training, qualification, and readiness support for nuclear operations personnel.
  • Coordinate OJT, refresher training, conduct-of-operations training, and certifications.
  • Ensure administrative alignment between training systems and operational needs.
  • Support qualification recordkeeping, compliance tracking, and personnel scheduling.

Planning, Scheduling & Integration

  • Partner with the Nuclear Operations Manager to align mission schedules, milestones, and operational deliverables.
  • Coordinate planning activities across maintenance, engineering, and operations administrative functions.
  • Integrate support functions into daily/weekly/monthly mission plans.
  • Participate in planning boards, schedule meetings, and readiness reviews.

Mission Services & Support Coordination

  • Manage mission service functions including production, waste management, logistics, administrative support, and facility service coordination.
  • Assist with resource allocation, material coordination, and mission support requests.
  • Serve as the point of integration for mission-related support services and interface organizations.\

Readiness & Conduct of Operations Support

  • Support adherence to Conduct of Operations principles within mission services activities.
  • Lead and enable readiness processes, including pre-job planning, prerequisites, and workforce support availability.
  • Assist in preparation for operational assessments, surveillances, and readiness reviews.

Interface Management

  • Serve as primary interface between nuclear operations, R&D, and support organizations.
  • Coordinate services across R&D, maintenance, engineering, training, radiation protection, nuclear safety, waste management, and facility support.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication to enable mission execution and resolve conflicts.

Compliance & Performance Support

  • Support compliance with DOE Orders, contractual requirements, and facility administrative procedures.
  • Lead and enable performance improvement activities through lessons learned, corrective actions, and benchmarking.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, nuclear technology, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience).
  • Minimum 8-12 years of progressively responsible experience in nuclear operations or nuclear facility management (DOE or commercial nuclear).
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing supervisors/teams in a high-hazard or nuclear environment.
  • Working knowledge of DOE nuclear operations requirements, Conduct of Operations principles, and authorization basis implementation.
  • Strong communication skills, operational decision-making ability, and experience leading through oversight and regulatory engagement.
