The Opportunity Ulteig is seeking a technically driven Renewables Quality & Standards Engineer to advance automation, standardization, and workflow optimization across our Renewables Lifeline Sector. In this role, you'll build C#based tools, streamline engineering processes, and enhance quality across solar, wind, BESS, and substation projects. What You'll Do Standards Development & Governance
- Lead development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Ulteig's Renewables design standards, including drawing standards, engineering workflows, design tools, and automation solutions.
- Develop and execute implementation and training plans for new and updated standards, ensuring high adoption across teams.
- Review and apply client-specific standards and processes to maintain compliance and client satisfaction.
- Partner with Ulteig's Engineering Center of Excellence (COE) and Automation Manager to align software-related standards, tooling, and processes.
- Define, document, and maintain scalable, endtoend workflows that support Renewables engineering delivery across all disciplines.
- Create tools and digital solutions that streamline engineering workflows, reduce manual effort, and promote standardization across Renewables projects.
Quality Program
- Lead the Renewables Quality program to ensure consistent, high-quality engineering deliverables and alignment with companywide quality initiatives.
- Maintain, refine, and automate quality checklists, review procedures, and governance processes.
- Conduct internal audits, monitor adherence to standards, and recommendation improvements based on findings.
- Represent the Renewables Business Unit on Ulteig's Quality Council, participating in recurring meetings, implementing new company processes, and advocating for Business Unit needs.
- Communicate regularly with our key clients, including Client Team Leads (CTLs), to capture upcoming changes, gather feedback, and share improvement opportunities.
- Document standards, regional considerations, and best practices to support uniform engineering delivery.
- Develop, track, and report department specific quality metrics.
- Identify workflow and process roadblocks and implement scalable solutions that improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability of engineering deliverables.
Workflow Automation & Digital Tools
- Develop and maintain automation solutions leveraging Power Platform, Dataverse, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Azure Services, SQL Server, and other digital tools.
- Create efficient, integrated workflows and data structures that support project consistency and "single source of truth" data management across multiple disciplines.
- Apply structured problem solving skills to diagnose process issues and develop scalable, longterm solutions that enhance engineering execution.
- Utilize ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and DevOps practices for controlled deployment, versioning, and maintenance of applications and workflows.
Training & Staff Enablement
- Assist with onboarding and training of new and experienced technical staff on department standards, client requirements, workflows, tools, and best practices.
- Partner with Ulteig's Training Committee to develop, update, and deliver technical and process-focused training sessions.
- Train staff on newly created or updated workflows and tools, ensuring proper usage and consistent adoption across the Renewables Business Unit.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership on process-driven initiatives, ensuring tools and workflows are aligned and complementary across the Renewables Business Unit.
- Lead efforts to identify gaps in standards, processes, and tools and develop plans to address them.
- Offer project oversight including engineering scope management, schedule tracking, and ensuring successful delivery of highquality work products.
- Maintain high levels of responsiveness and quality to meet internal and external client expectations.
- Coordinate activities of crossdisciplinary team members, guiding them toward consistent, resultsdriven execution.
- Serve as a highly organized, process-oriented leader who drives structure, standardization, and efficiency in engineering delivery.
What We Expect from You: Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming experience with C#, including developing automation solutions, applications, or integrations to support engineering workflows.
- Experience with renewable energy project design and engineering, with a strong understanding of key deliverables, discipline interfaces, and project lifecycles.
- Demonstrated ability to map engineering processes, standardize workflows, and develop scalable, repeatable solutions that improve quality and efficiency.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to translate complex engineering needs into structured workflows and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and collaborate effectively across technical teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, drive continuous improvement, and work independently in a fastpaced environment.
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in utilityscale renewable energy engineering (solar, wind, BESS, or substation).
- Experience working with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse).
- Familiarity with JavaScript, Power Fx, SQL, or custom connector development.
- Experience integrating solutions with Microsoft cloud services such as SharePoint, Azure Services, or Dynamics 365.
- Knowledge of ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and DevOps practices for deploying, versioning, and maintaining automation solutions.
- Lean process improvement or workflow governance experience.
- Technical engineering expertise in at least one related discipline (Civil, Structural, or Electrical) is a plus.
