Are you a seasoned user research expert passionate about shaping intuitive digital experiences? We are seeking a highly skilled and driven individual to play a pivotal role in optimizing the platform experience for our client's diverse user base. You will be instrumental in ensuring that the tools and interfaces provided to platform users are not just functional, but truly intuitive, efficient, and delightful. Your work will directly impact the success and satisfaction of countless businesses, making their online operations smoother and more effective.

**What You'll Do:**

* Document best practices for user research and develop a comprehensive usability toolkit for conducting formal and informal studies.

* Champion usability best practices across relevant business units, extending influence beyond the immediate design team.

* Design and conduct a wide array of user experience studies, including competitive reviews, focus groups, field studies, usability tests, surveys, cognitive walkthroughs, paired comparisons, structured interviews, contextual inquiry, task analysis, heuristic reviews, remote testing, and card sorting.

* Create tasks and materials for testing, defining clear success criteria for each study.

* Present compelling usability study results and deliver actionable, research-based recommendations to product teams.

* Observe user sessions, meticulously documenting observations for analysis, and effectively communicate findings to the design team to ensure proper implementation.

* Collaborate closely with designers to analyze and refine wireframes and mockups prior to development, fostering greater ease of use and positive user experiences.

**Must-Have Qualifications:**

* Advanced degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.

* Minimum of 7+ years of dedicated experience in user research and conducting formal usability studies.

* Demonstrated expertise in designing and executing usability studies and user research, including contextual inquiry, screening questions, study plans, and comprehensive reports.

* Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative user research methodologies and data analysis (6+ years).

* Extensive experience with various research techniques such as surveys, heuristic evaluations, and usability testing (6+ years).

* Strong academic paper writing skills (6+ years).

* Proven experience in ethnographic user research (6+ years).

* Exceptional writing and presentation skills, including the ability to deliver executive-level presentations (6+ years).

* Experience with remote researcher tools.

* A strong advocate for user-centered design principles, capable of influencing technical teams.

* Deep interest in understanding user needs and workflows.

* Highly collaborative and team-oriented, thriving in dynamic environments.

* Detail-oriented with the ability to manage self-directed projects effectively.

* Adept at communicating complex subject matter clearly, both verbally and in writing.

**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**

* 2-4 years of experience in UX Design.

* Familiarity with UX design best practices to inform recommendations.
