Job Description - 100% Remote We are seeking *three **senior**-level ZEKE Scheduling Subject Matter Experts* to support enterprise production scheduling, CD1 conversion readiness, and batch optimization initiatives. These are *hands-on SME roles* requiring deep ZEKE production experience-*not* entry-level resources or tool-only operators.
The ideal candidates will play a critical role in stabilizing, optimizing, and preparing enterprise batch processing for upcoming conversion activities. Engagement Overview * *Engagement Duration:* March - July * *Work Schedule:* Varies by role (see below) * *On-Call Support:* Required for select conversion and integration events Role Breakdown *Role 1: **senior** ZEKE Scheduler (Day Shift)* *Schedule* * Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST * 24O7 on-call support required during designated conversion/integration weekends *Key Responsibilities* * Own daily enterprise batch execution using *ZEKE/ZEBB* * *Process and validate scheduling requests through enterprise change and service management tools* * *Provide expert-level support for job abends, reruns, restarts, and dependency issues* * *Proactively monitor batch schedules to identify risks, inefficiencies, and conflicts* * *Provide rapid recovery support during production incidents* * *Co-lead planning sessions with application teams to ensure CD1 readiness* * *Document and track all INT, Mock1, and Mock2* activities * Recommend improvements to CD1 execution, communication, and scheduling readiness * Develop and maintain runbooks and actionable pre-conversion checklists * Establish clear timelines for scheduling and JCL submissions to support pre-staging * Advocate for Production Support by ensuring early visibility and preparation time *Role 2: **senior** ZEKE Schedulers (Off-Hours / Conversion Coverage - 2 Openings)* *Schedule* * Flexible scheduling with primary coverage during: * Off-hours batch windows * Weekend validation cycles * Mock events * Early morning or late-night batch processing as required * Conversion-week coverage may include overnight shifts (e.g., midnight-4:00 AM) *Key Responsibilities* * Support enterprise batch operations during non-standard hours * Provide hands-on *ZEKE scheduling* support and recovery for after-hours processing * Assist with CD1 planning sessions, particularly off-cycle and late-shift activities * Support *INT, Mock1, and Mock2* test windows and document issues and outcomes * Ensure batch flow accuracy and dependency integrity during assigned coverage windows * Assist with runbook updates, anomaly tracking, and readiness improvements * Monitor critical-path jobs during off-hour processing cycles * Provide coverage to maintain momentum and continuity during CD1 preparation Core Responsibilities (All Roles) ZEKE Production Scheduling & Support * Own and manage enterprise-wide batch scheduling using *ZEKE/ZEBB* * *Process and review all scheduling requests to ensure accuracy and adherence to production standards* * *Provide expert production support for abends, scheduling failures, reruns, restarts, and dependencies* * *Actively monitor schedules to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities* * *Partner with application teams to resolve complex batch and scheduling issues before production impact* CD1 Conversion Planning & Continuous Improvement *Readiness & Execution* * Participate in application planning sessions to ensure batch readiness for CD1 conversions * Track and document all INT, Mock1, and Mock2 activities, including issues and lessons learned * Analyze conversion trends to identify bottlenecks, failure points, and opportunities for earlier execution or automation *Conversion Weekend Improvements* * Propose strategies to improve conversion readiness, including: * Job and data pre-staging * Batch flow readiness * Dependency accuracy * Issue tracking and escalation * Improve communication and coordination across application teams, Production Support, and Operations * Establish repeatable submission timelines to allow early validation and approval * Develop and maintain runbooks, process documentation, and readiness checklists Outcome Expectations These roles are accountable for *elevating CD1 execution from a reactive event to a well-coordinated, proactively managed process*, supported by strong documentation, early deliverables, and predictable execution.
