Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Sales & Design Specialist to be located in Lancaster, PA reporting to the Manager of Sales & Design for ProjectWorks, and within the Commercial Digitalization group. This opportunity does have the ability to be remote. As part of the ProjectWorks Team, you will be responsible for utilizing your sales and technical skills, product knowledge, and your understanding of organized project workflows to perform initial project reviews, provide technical support, and ensure the completion of project drawing packages and takeoffs. You will collaborate heavily with the various ProjectWorks teams, various business units (AS, Core, WAVE, etc.), and with the AWI Sales Team from an internal perspective, as well as company customers in sub-contractors, general contractors, distributors, and architects/designers from an external perspective.

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships with internal and external customers
  • Support sales teams by providing product and technical expertise in a timely manner
  • Support ProjectWorks team members with thorough scoping of project requests
  • Educate general field sales teams looking for technical support on targeted projects
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
  • Recommend products based on cost, availability, and specifications in order to increase customer satisfaction
  • Identify new product opportunities, product installation or performance improvements

Pipeline & Project Management

  • Partner with project managers, design team, and sales reps to aggressively develop project design successes on opportunities
  • Participate and collaborate with internal/external teams to scope project requests in all construction phases.
  • Evaluate and prioritize project opportunities that drive profitable growth
  • Act as point of contact between customers and various departments throughout the design & bid phases
  • Manage Design Digital Services opportunities in Salesforce.com (SFDC)
  • Work directly with design team and other subject matter experts to create and refine solutions
  • Help to provide accurate drawing package documents to customer
  • Provide pre-construction support services to contractors including information/technical support

What will make you successful

  • Superior organizational & communication skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of SFDC
  • Project management work experience, within construction industry preferred
  • Familiar with estimating, reading blueprints, and understanding the construction process preferred
  • Armstrong product knowledge across all business units preferred
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role that includes influencing sales preferred
  • Multicultural experience and bilingual skills are desired

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant construction industry experience required (3+ years' grade 8, 5+ years' grade 9, 7+ years' grade 10)
  • High school diploma/GED required
