Overview

Aspire to develop the skill set of a Chief Financial Officer? Want to understand Microsoft's big picture and company-wide financials? The Technical Finance Team is part of a broader team that provides key insights that help Microsoft make better financial and business decisions. We are at the hub of Microsoft's financial activities, being a key strategic partner to all sides of the business and serving a diverse set of stakeholders: Board of Directors, Wall Street analysts and shareholders, the Senior Leadership Team (CEO, CFO, and Executive VPs), executive staff (Corporate VPs), finance leadership (CFOs and controllers), and functional teams across the company (Corporate Strategy and central teams).

The Technical Finance Team is responsible for consolidating financial insights which span the entire company. Examples include business performance metrics, forward-looking guidance, extended long-range planning, corporate structure, cash flow, foreign exchange, and market/compete. We work together on each of these as a team. The Finance Manager - Core FP&A will manage 1-2 pillars and support the remaining, with opportunities to rotate responsibilities. This Finance Manager - Core FP&A rolewill give you the opportunity to learn executive perspective and contribute to company-wide impact, while gaining CFO skills that are difficult to get anywhere else.



Responsibilities
  • Develop trusted partnerships across diverse teams such as Corporate Strategy, Human Resources, Tax, Accounting, and Finance
  • Demonstrate proficient attention to detail in financial modeling, reporting, and presentations
  • Simplify complex details to support leadership decision-making
  • Manage change and drive opportunities for efficiency and automation across financial rhythms of business (ROB)
  • Successful execution of time-sensitive and high-pressure deliverables with calm composure, positive attitude, and team spirit
  • Contribute to team growth including mentorship, coaching, recruiting, onboarding, and training activities
  • Apply judgment and manage multiple workstreams to create clarity in ambiguous scenarios


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
