Field Support Area Trainer, Diagnostics North America

As a Field Support Area Trainer you will lead delivery of curriculum content alongside the building of skills and capabilities within our customer facing field support organization, to strengthen our position as the trusted partner for veterinary professionals in improving their patient care and practice health. Develops and maintains knowledge of industry best practices in adult learning, company products/services and internal business management systems. Works closely with Regional Field Support Managers within Sales Areas to create and maintain an Area Training Plan that identifies performance opportunities, develops advantageous skillsets, and executes training strategies. Provides a world class onboarding experience to new team members by facilitating and coaching to the Field Support New Hire Learning Journey. Collaborates closely with business partners, provides relevant field information, partners across Commercial Learning teams, and acts as an advisor in content creation and training delivery.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead training curriculum delivery for key IDEXX business opportunities including classroom setting, Field Support & National Summits, Trade Shows, Regional Team meetings, Area Training events and Leadership Team debrief

  • Execute best practices in Adult Learning theory through all training opportunities, including virtual, on-site, digital media, etc.

  • Create and/or provide support for content development by offering expertise and perspective during reviews, editing and impact measurement steps of the development process

  • Design and facilitate learner-focused training sessions in collaboration with SMEs, ensuring alignment to defined learning outcomes.

  • Conduct targeted in-field ride alongs in NA to implement Level III assessments to measure effectiveness of new hire training, workshops, skill development and meeting/event curriculum.

  • Assess and deliver training opportunities to maximize impact for live and virtual training activities

  • Partner with Area Field Support Leaders to identify and prioritize Area training, support effective commercial execution, territory growth, and trusted customer partnerships.

  • Conduct assessments and lead process improvement opportunities with our Training Curriculum, Coaching Assessments, Training Delivery, and new Education Technology considerations

  • Support project assignments that cover interdepartmental partnerships, New Product launches, and specialized customer training opportunities

  • Integrate learning technologies and contemporary platforms to enhance training effectiveness and learner engagement

  • Measure and monitor ROI of training investments to ensure continuous improvement and business impact

  • Adhere to and model the IDEXX Purpose & Guiding Principles.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Manage:

  • Area Business-aligned Training Cadence: Plan and facilitate periodic training sessions, field ride alongs, and meetings aligned with business priorities and performance objectives.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner across field professional teams, marketing, training, and operations to design and deliver training curriculum and content supporting new product launches, field initiatives and tools.

  • Field Support Performance Development: Strengthen performance management skills across customer facing teams by promoting effective coaching, feedback and professional growth practices.

  • New Hire Onboarding: Area aligned new hire training facilitation and new hire journey management, ensuring onboarded professionals are progressing through the curriculum and retaining/utilizing learning as outlined in learning outcomes.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Specialized training or certification in Education/Training preferred

  • Successful experience in customer facing field support roles strongly encouraged

  • Experience with Adult Learning and Training Platforms for large teams preferred

  • Experience in content design and/or utilization of AI for learning asset.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to facilitate trainings effectively in person and with virtual teams

  • Committed team player with a proactive, solutions-based approach who can work with general direction and has a proven ability to identify, analyze, and propose recommendations for process improvements

  • Ability to teach and positively influence a variety of audiences

  • Ability to collaborate and influence from a home office environment

  • Ability to manage projects effectively - including planning, organizing, and execution with demonstrated ability to achieve planned results.

  • Effective facilitator, able to resolve conflict through mutual understanding and respect

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the willingness and ability to work collaboratively with others in a matrix environment.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Web based meeting hosting

  • Fluency in the English language, foreign language a plus

  • Proven success working in and leading high-performance, collaborative teams.

  • Results-oriented mindset with the ability to persuade, influence, and align stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and facilitation techniques.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with experience in virtual facilitation tools and e-learning platforms.

  • Enthusiasm for innovative learning methods including AI, gamification, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and other emerging technologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Travel up to 50%
  • Extended hours may be required
