Summary
Responsible for responding to medical emergencies and delivering patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, like on scene and during transport to the hospital. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care. -Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment. -Document patient information, condition, and treatment. -Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights. -Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures. -Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients. -Operate and drive an ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws. Education Required * High School Diploma or equivalent, or completion of EMT training program or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma * Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a clean driving record Preferred * Current Massachusetts EMT Certification (Basic, Intermediate, or Paramedic) * CPR/BLS (Healthcare Provider) Certification * NREMT Certification * EMT experience New EMTs are welcome to apply!
