The Coordinator for Student Transitions leads the Virtual Orientation Experience, the required online programming all incoming students complete before enrolling at the University of Arizona. This position collaborates closely with academic colleges and campus partners to ensure each student's transition is clear, supportive, and seamless. This role manages both the programmatic content and the operational logistics of the Virtual Orientation Experience, ensuring it runs smoothly from planning through implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversees the programmatic and operational logistics of the Virtual Orientation Experience, including setting up advising appointments in Trellis and coordinating Orientation Leader-led sessions such as Registration Assistance, first-semester schedule support, and end-of-session Departure meetings. This role ensures that students leave the virtual experience feeling confident and prepared to begin their first semester.
  • The Coordinator works closely with the Business Analyst and Associate Director for Student Transitions to ensure accurate data flow between UAccess, Slate, and Trellis. Additionally, this position supports students by managing and facilitating appointment adjustments and rescheduling needs for Orientation and academic advising.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for campus departments participating in the Virtual Orientation Experience, ensuring their involvement is well-coordinated and aligned with student needs.
  • This position supports the Business Analyst in compiling and updating Arizona Arrival content each year, guaranteeing that all information is accurate, current, and relevant for incoming students. Additionally, the Coordinator develops the summer Insight Sessions calendar, showcasing key campus departments and programs to help students and families feel informed, supported, and connected before arriving on campus.
  • Manages all orientation-related communications sent to incoming students throughout the year, ensuring that messaging is accurate, engaging, and aligned with program goals. These communication plans are designed to support class yield while preparing students for their Virtual Orientation Experience.
  • The Coordinator also ensures that all marketing materials reflect the overall theme of the Virtual Orientation Experience and accurately represent the program structure and student progression.
  • Provides support for additional transition programs coordinated by the Office of Student Transitions & Customer Service, including Future Families, New Start, STU 210, and Destination Arizona.
  • In this role, the Coordinator assists with planning, logistics, communication, and execution to help ensure a seamless and supportive experience across all transition initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in customer service, event coordination, or higher education preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff members across the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Enrollment Management, and the University of Arizona.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
