Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Epic Portfolio Manager - Patient Quality and Safety

Join Memorial Sloan Kettering as an Epic Portfolio Manager for Patient Quality and Safety and play a key role in advancing how healthcare technology supports safer, higher-quality care. In this role, you'll work alongside clinical, operational, and compliance leaders to design and deliver Epic solutions that strengthen patient safety, support regulatory excellence, and improve care outcomes. You'll lead initiatives that transform safety events and quality data into meaningful improvements-helping one of the world's leading cancer centers continue setting the standard for patient-centered care.

Role Overview

  • Oversee Epic portfolio supporting MSK's Department of Quality and Safety across enterprise locations.

  • Serve as Epic Safety Manager in Health System Operations, leading assessment and coordination of Epic Patient Safety Events (PSEs) and Care Concern Bulletins.

  • Manage Epic response to Rapid Response Team actions, after-action reviews, and root cause analyses.

  • Lead projects supporting regulatory compliance, performance metrics, and safety-focused Epic initiatives.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, operations, and clinical departments to implement solutions that enhance safety.

  • Coordinate across portfolios (e.g., imaging, perioperative, infusion) to align safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with Digital Informatics and Technology (DigIts) compliance teams, and clinical services to ensure Epic tools support quality goals.

  • Drive optimization of data and workflows to support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate governance forums to provide updates, prioritization, and decisions for safety-related Epic initiatives.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, clinical operations, or clinical informatics within a hospital or health system.

  • Clinical background (e.g., RN, allied health professional, or prior frontline clinical experience) with a strong understanding of patient care workflows.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience managing Epic initiatives or portfolios in a complex healthcare environment.

  • Active Epic certification in a relevant Epic Module

  • Proven experience leading projects related to patient safety events, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, or accreditation readiness.

  • Strong project management experience, including PMP certification or equivalent practical experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with clinicians, operations, IT, and compliance teams to deliver enterprise-scale solutions.

Core Skills:

  • Deep knowledge in Epic applications, paired with a strong understanding of hospital operations, patient safety, and quality improvement frameworks.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional responses to patient safety events, regulatory findings, and system-wide improvement initiatives.

  • Strength in portfolio management, governance facilitation, and prioritization across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

  • Ability to translate clinical, safety, and compliance requirements into scalable Epic workflows and technical solutions.

  • Advanced analytical skills to leverage Epic data, reporting, and metrics to drive continuous quality and safety improvements.

  • Confident communicator who can engage clinicians, operational leaders, compliance partners, and executives with clarity and credibility.

  • Collaborative, change-oriented leader who builds trust, influences outcomes, and drives adoption across diverse clinical and technical teams.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday

  • Location: Hybrid; 3x a month (with flexibility as needed) at 633 Third Ave, New York, NY

Pay Range: $149,200.00 - $246,300.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
