Description
Position Summary: The Facilities Building Engineer inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions per specifications. This professional oversees and reviews the work performed by outside contractors. Responsible for contracted work including landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, and other trades. NOTE: A physical exam may be required upon job offer. Essential Functions:
- Ability to perform work of many trades such as, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Complete maintenance and repair records as required including fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems
- Inspect building systems at multiple locations to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions standards.
- Oversee the BMS (Building Management System) while utilizing BMS for troubleshooting and maintaining building efficiency.
- Review assigned work orders. Estimate time and materials needed to complete repair. Order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
- Maintain professional appearance of property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
- Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions per specifications.
- Oversee and inspect work performed by outside contractors and Facilities Engineer Assistants. Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, cleaning, and other trades.
- Perform carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Willing to be available to complete required work.
- Compile with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintain fleet vehicles.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training: follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree with focus on technical area preferred.
- At least 5 years of facilities experience and/or trade school training preferred.
- CAD experience preferred.
- Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in three or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, painting, plumbing, or carpentry. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with good driving record.
- Knowledge of financial terms and principles as well as understanding of operating budgets required.

Working Environment: Occasional work outside of regular work schedule to perform snow removal or special projects. Heavy work lifting and/or carrying up 100 pounds occasionally.
