What You'll Do
Assist the Sustaining Performance team with the creation, execution, and maintenance of performance tests for Prophet 21 Help collect, analyze, and report performance metrics to identify trends and potential regressions Support automation of performance testing workflows and data collection where applicable Collaborate with product developers and QA engineers to understand performance requirements and test scenarios Document performance test results, test procedures, and metric definitions Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of performance testing practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
Basic knowledge of one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar) Foundational understanding of software development concepts, including data structures, APIs, and system interactions Basic understanding of databases and data concepts (e.g., SQL, relational databases) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to reason about system behavior and performance Ability to write, read, and maintain code and scripts with guidance Familiarity with version control tools such as Git Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Interest in backend systems, performance, scalability, or reliability engineering Exposure to performance or automated testing through coursework, projects, or internships Experience analyzing metrics, logs, or test results to identify trends or issues Familiarity with scripting or automation used to support development or testing workflows Familiarity with agile or Scrum development practices
Education and Experience
Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field OR Equivalent practical experience demonstrated through projects, internships, or prior work
