Presser/Inspector - Asheville

Reports to: Sr. Sewing Supervisor

Supervises: N/A

Summary Statement: Under the general supervision of the Sr. Sewing Supervisor, the person in this position is responsible for pressing seams following all established work, quality and safety procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Press the ends of the seam seal tapes to assure a proper seal.
• Inspect finished product to assure proper seal.
• Notify supervisor of any problems or concerns regarding product or procedures.

Marginal Job Functions

• Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
• Participate in training and meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Must be able to visually perform product inspections.
• Must have good hand/eye coordination.
• Must be able to work both planned and unplanned overtime.
• Must have arm and hand strength to pull fabric tightly throughout a 10-hour period.
• Must be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day.

Education and Work Experience

• On the job training will be provided.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
