$28.61 - $53.14 JOB SUMMARY:

Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients to detect diseases, using radiation producing and detective equipment, under direction of physician ensuring viable images are obtained.

Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of role, relevant regulations, and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.

Key Performance Areas:

KPA 1. Nuclear Medicine Imaging & Radiopharmaceutical Administration
Prepare, calculate, administer, measure, and record radiopharmaceutical dosages in accordance with physician prescriptions; perform diagnostic imaging procedures and produce accurate images for physician interpretation.

KPA 2. Radiation Safety, Compliance & Quality Control
Ensure safe handling, storage, calibration, and disposal of radioactive materials; maintain imaging and laboratory equipment; comply with all federal, state, and organizational safety regulations and quality standards.

KPA 3. Patient Care, Education & Safety
Explain procedures and safety precautions to patients, provide assistance during examinations, protect patient rights, and maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and applicable regulations.

KPA 4. Regulatory Compliance & Professional Credentialing
Maintain active state licensure in Nuclear Medicine and General Radiography; meet continuing education requirements; adhere to all federal, state, and organizational policies related to patient care, billing, IT, and disaster recovery.

KPA 5. Operational Support & Team Collaboration
Maintain a safe, organized work environment; assist with training new employees; support clinic operations by working across locations and overtime as needed to meet business demands.

Required Qualifications:

Education

  • High school education required

Minimum Relevant Experience

  • 1 year of experience as PET Technologist preferred

Certifications/Licenses

  • State CRT, Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) license

  • ARRT Certification preferred

  • BLS certification required

Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year active experience as a PET/CT Technologist is required. Will consider recent graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program that is eligible to sit for their registry. Must pass Nuclear Medicine or PET Registry exam within 6 months of hire if recent graduate.
