River Bend Administration is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and analytical individual to join the organization as a Staff Accountant. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and works collaboratively with the other members of the accounting team.

What you will do

The Staff Accountant will work collaboratively with the Senior Accountants, the Accounting Manager, the Managing Director of Accounting, other members of the existing family trust company ("FTC") team, and other family advisory teams to perform the accounting and fiduciary reporting functions for the FTC. Responsibilities and duties include:

    Reconciling general ledger and bank accounts
  • Maintaining cash balances and overseeing cash activity, including coordinating with various associates to ensure timely payment and high-quality input to accounting software
  • Preparing quarter and year-end closing tasks and assisting in preparation of financial statements and related schedules for the FTC's trusts and entities
  • Preparing annual fiduciary accountings to meet family and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating with other staff to provide support for other finance and accounting projects
  • Providing schedules and information to other departments as needed
  • Analyzing and preparing recommendations to management on process improvement
  • Performing other duties as required and necessary to accomplish goals and objectives

Qualifications required for your success

The Staff Accountant must possess the following professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of general ledger systems and Office365 including Excel and SharePoint

Additional Helpful Experience and Qualifications Includes

  • One year of work experience or relevant internship experience in an accounting role within a professional setting, such as a corporate finance department, public accounting firm, family office, or family trust company
  • Work experience in fiduciary accounting with a trust company, law firm, or family office
  • Experience using Microsoft Business Central and SharePoint
