The Welding Repair Technician will assist in the rehabilitation and repair of Liquid Cylinder tanks (both industrial and beverage) at the company's Whites Creek facility. The technician will be responsible for performing regularly scheduled repairs, rehab and upgrades of Liquid Cylinders. Prepare rehabbed liquid cylinders for shipping via pallet or alone. Properly receive and inspect liquid cylinders for repair. Properly remove old stickers and signage, complete Normal Evaporative Rate, (NER), testing. Polish refurbished tanks, properly install new decal, signage and prepare for shipping. Be able to understand and follow procedures from company LCR rehab manuals and other instruction. In this position the technician will also repair and maintain liquid cylinders. Some warehouse, forklift and inventory tasks will be associated with this position. Candidate must be detail oriented and thorough and have and an ability to learn and to properly handle both liquid and high pressure gas cylinders. Must be able to pass written and oral test on LCR procedures and federal handling of hazardous materials, (HHM), regulations, following training.

  • Comply with all Company and industry safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work some occasional overtime, if necessary.

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

  • Must be able to work outdoors in a wide range of temperatures.

  • Ability to use hand tools (electrical and manual) in a safe manner.

  • Must be able to operate a forklift and able to maintain appropriate certifications.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, safety instructions, technical procedures or governmental regulations (MSDS).

  • Maintain neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.

  • Learn " Great Customer Service " Techniques.

  • Service, inspect, use, and maintain shop tools/equipment in clean good working condition and accordance with manufacturers recommended procedures.

  • Identify and communicate problems to supervisors for timely repair response.

  • Maintain inventory of parts that are required to perform service.

  • Inspection and basic maintenance of all equipment associated with the basic function of this position.

  • Submit completed inspection reports to manager in timely manner to facilitate customer billing.

  • Must attend company safety meetings.

  • Ensure proper and full time use of Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Ensure any accident or injury is reported promptly to manager. Must have strong math skills; ability to calculate figures and units of measure.

  • Must be customer service oriented and able to interact with both internal and external customers in a professional manner.

  • Takes initiative to problem solve and troubleshoot with results.

  • Possess a commitment to safety.

  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

  • Assist LCR team in other LCR rehab stations.

  • General office/facility housekeeping.

  • High school diploma, or equivalent (GED).

  • Must be able to read and write in English.

  • Must have basic computer skills or willing to take classes to learn those skills.

  • Able to understand piping and tank detail from manuals and mechanical drawings.

  • Experience with cryogenic gases and systems, high pressure piping/tubing work a plus.

  • Experience in the HVAC or plumbing industry with hands on welding/brazing skill a plus.

  • Pre-employment and random drug testing, physical and background screen applies.

In lieu of the above, any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the aforementioned knowledge, abilities, and skills may be considered at the company's discretion.

The USES category for this position is Medium. While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly required to perform work involving standing, kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, as well as talk and hear. The associate will be required to routinely lift 25-50 lbs and occasionally lift 51-80 lbs with material handling equipment for more than 10 feet. Associate is required to move large gas cylinders with the use of a hand cart. Associate is required by this position to use hands to fingers to feel objects, work tools or controls to hook up and disconnect cylinders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
