Job Description
  • Work with the Plant Manager in achieving plant goals
  • Accountable for the safety and wellbeing of all personnel under their direction
  • Provide procedures for the supervision of the Technical Staff
  • Set the direction and oversight of the Technical Departments
  • Assure that the company's quality vision policy is followed by all personnel in technical positions
  • Accomplish the goals and objectives of the Technical Departments as set forth by Management in the department responsibilities
  • Establish and operate within budget as approved by Management
  • Maintain profitability of the technical department
  • Establish priorities for the work to be completed within the departments
  • Work with other departments regarding scheduling, quality, productivity, etc.
  • Maximize the production schedule, advise of any conditions for schedule interruptions
  • Maximize machine run time hours
  • Assure the maximum utilization and efficiency of all equipment in the molding department
  • Continually inspect mold, machine and related equipment to assure that it achieves its greatest efficiency and quality of parts
  • Maintain production and quality standards
  • Identify, quantify and take corrective action for scrap production
  • Assist with Product Development Projects
  • Provide leadership and promote an environment of teamwork
  • Responsible for working in conjunction with human resources for hiring and termination of personnel
  • Assist and facilitate all personnel in achieving department goals
  • Responsible for ensuring that employees follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, attendance, SOP's and GMP's
  • Responsible for issuing corrective actions where appropriate
  • Perform any other duties established by the Plant Manager
  • Serves as backup for Plant Director and Production Manager in case of absence.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises all Technical Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of employees, placing, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education and/or Experience:

Education: BS. Degree or equivalent experience. Injection Molding experience is strongly preferred. Must possess a diversified background with strong technical, business, and managerial skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft products preferred)
  • Possess mechanical and processing skills
